NEWEST ITEM: JULIET BEADED WATCH

Juliet is the newest creation of mine, and I’m personally really proud of it. I wanted to create something that was simple, elegant and light – perfect for Brides and more practical than just a bracelet. (Though I do enjoy making those too!) Other than that, I had no plan of what I was going to make, it was simply a spur of the moment concoction.

Unlike the other watches, Juliet has a hear shaped clock face with small diamantes along the edge to give it a bit of sparkle, and I’ve used Swarovski Crystal Elements throughout the wrist strap to add more sparkle without it ever reaching ‘Bling-dom’.

I really like its simplicity. In the past, I’ve found it difficult to find a pretty watch that didn’t clash with what I was wearing or look too heavily thrown together. I kept in mind that Bridal dresses are deliberately extravagant, so any jewellery made had to fit the brief whilst also being simple otherwise it would just all be too much. An added bonus is that it’s so pretty yet simple that it could be worn time and again after the wedding – which added to its practicality. The colour of the beads is ‘Moonlight Shade’, so it picks up the reflections off any dress; which means the Bride could wear White, Ivory or Cream and this watch would still look great alongside.

I did, at the beginning, struggle to find a clasp that I thought suited the brief of ‘pretty, bridal elegance’ – so you can imagine my relief when I found the magnetic rhinestone clasp as it’s just perfect for the watch, and easy to use as both the jewellery maker and the wearer. I’m looking forward to making other watches in the future – and whilst I don’t want to give too much away at the moment – I am also looking forward to experimenting with a few other designs I’ve discovered. I’m learning all the time how to make new things, and I love finding little charms I can incorporate, such as with the Juliet bracelet. (Both items look great together by the way!)

If you have any questions about the watch, how I made it, whether you can have a complete set made (earrings, necklace, bracelet and watch) please don’t hesitate to contact us in the comments section below.
